Fair Trade Village
A named craft-market initiative associated with AHA’s local-origin approach.
A place to compare crafts thoughtfully
Fair Trade Village presents Cambodian handicrafts and links its offering to the Angkor Handicraft Association scheme. Its public material includes workshops and several kinds of craft. It can therefore serve as a starting point for a buyer who wants to compare materials and ask about making, rather than simply compare the lowest souvenir prices. Confirm what is currently represented before planning a visit around a single specialist process.
Keep market names distinct
This is not a generic name for all fair-trade shops in Siem Reap, and it should not be confused with the separately named Made in Cambodia Market. Use the venue’s own directions and obtain current visit information. When buying, keep the producer label and receipt with the object; ask the seller to clarify any origin statement. The venue’s name is not, by itself, proof of a separate international certification for every product. Record the actual scheme or evidence provided.
