Artists and workshops: introduce your work to CamboArts

Cambodian artists, craft makers and cultural spaces can introduce their public work or suggest a correction. Battambang is our starting point.

Who this invitation is for

CamboArts covers Cambodian painting, sculpture, textiles, ceramics, photography, design, performance and living cultural practices. We begin in Battambang because our publisher is based there and wants to build direct working relationships. The editorial directory also includes documented places and practices elsewhere in Cambodia, so an artist does not have to be located in a major tourist centre to be relevant.

This invitation is for an introduction or correction, not an automatic publication service. We do not promise a sale, a booking, a ranking or immediate inclusion. A maker who does not welcome visitors can still have a public professional practice worth explaining; the listing must simply make that distinction clear.

Send a concise professional introduction

Use the enquiry link accompanying this guide and choose the artist or workshop introduction. Include the name you use professionally, your town or province, your main materials or art forms and a short description of your work. Add a link to an official portfolio, gallery page or public professional account. Tell us whether you are introducing yourself, representing an organisation with permission or correcting an existing entry.

The message form has no file upload. Start with links and a compact explanation rather than a large biography. Do not send identity documents, banking details, private addresses or children’s personal information. An editorial contact can be different from the address visitors see publicly.

Explain what visitors can actually do

If you offer visits or workshops, state whether they require an appointment, which languages you use and whether you teach individuals, families or groups. Describe the activity rather than simply calling it an “authentic experience”. Can someone observe weaving, try a clay technique, discuss paintings or attend a scheduled performance? Are there stages they cannot complete during one session?

Only include prices or opening details you are authorised to communicate, and give the date they were checked. A workshop held once in the past should not be presented as a recurring weekly offer. If your studio is temporarily closed, selling online or receiving visitors at another address, tell us so that an old description does not send people to the wrong place.

Keep images and credits under your control

Share portfolio links first. If we later agree to reproduce a photograph or artwork image, we will need permission from the relevant rights holder, the credit to display and any agreed restrictions. Owning the object and owning the photograph can involve different people. Public visibility on a social platform does not by itself settle permission to reuse an image elsewhere.

WIPO explains that creators can have economic rights over reproduction and moral rights relating to authorship. CamboArts’s editorial process therefore separates factual research from image permission. We do not need an artist’s private life story or a dramatic hardship narrative to describe the quality, process and context of their work.

What happens to the enquiry

The message enters the site’s private enquiries inbox for manual review. It is not automatically published or forwarded to another organisation. The existing form explains its consent and retention terms. Sending an introduction does not establish a partnership, appoint CamboArts as your sales agent or authorise a booking on your behalf.

If a listing is prepared, its purpose is to help readers understand your work and contact an appropriate public source. Any future paid promotion, introduction fee or commercial arrangement must be discussed separately. For corrections, identify the page and the exact information that needs changing, with a public source where possible. Accurate names, places and current visit conditions are especially useful contributions.
