Koh Dach weaving community
An island weaving area near central Phnom Penh; individual household visits need their own arrangement.
A community, not a single operator
Koh Dach is associated with weaving and is commonly advertised as Silk Island. The official gazetteer places Kaoh Dach Sangkat in Phnom Penhโs Chrouy Changvar district; older Kandal descriptions should not be used as the current administrative address. This directory entry represents a craft area, not one workshop or a group with a universal ticket. Ask a willing host to identify the actual maker and meeting point before travelling.
What makes a visit useful
Ask whether you will observe weaving, receive a process explanation or take part in a lesson. In a shop, distinguish where the fabric was woven from where its yarn was produced. A household selling textiles may also carry work made elsewhere. That is not inherently misleading if it is explained. Request material and care information, pay any agreed demonstration fee and seek consent before photographing the people whose homes and workplaces you enter.
