Theam’s Gallery
An artist-associated gallery and workshop setting in Siem Reap’s Kokchak area.
An individual artistic perspective
Theam’s Gallery brings the work and creative direction of Lim Muy Theam into a setting that also includes craft practice. Its published presentation refers to painting, decorative objects and reinterpretation of Khmer visual sources. Approach it as the work of a particular artist and team rather than a definitive account of Cambodian art. Look at a small number of works carefully, then ask what the gallery can tell you about their materials and context.
Questions for visitors and buyers
Ask which parts of the setting are included in a normal visit and whether makers are working during the proposed time. Do not assume that seeing a workshop includes a hands-on class. For a purchase, establish whether the object is unique, an edition or a workshop design, and who should be credited. Confirm permission before photographing artworks for publication, especially when an image may later be used commercially.
